Sports Nutrition

Both diet and exercise are critical contributors toward health and wellness, which are of increasing interest.

There is a need for healthcare and wellness professionals with expertise in both nutrition and physical activity.

This degree is an excellent preparatory degree for students who are:

  • Pre-Physical Therapy
  • Pre-Chiropractic
  • Pre-Nursing
  • Pre-Optometry
  • Pre-Physician Assistant

Graduates pursue health/fitness promotion careers in:

  • Sports Teams
  • Consulting Firms
  • Gyms and Fitness Centers
  • Athletic and Health Clubs
  • Recreation and Leisure
  • Food Industry
  • Wellness Center
  • Public and Private Clinics
  • Entrepreneur

Students may also elect to supplement their academic training with national certification in a specific area (e.g. personal trainer, strength and conditioning specialist, fitness specialist).  Academic plans could also be created to become a Sports Dietitian.
