3nd Annual Hospitality Summit

The 2019 Hospitality Summit is approaching. This year's Summit will be held on October 30th at the K-State Alumni Association Center from 9:30 a.m-3:00 p.m. There will be a variety of speaker to hear from and to meet. Husam Kakish, our keynote speaker, is a K-State alumni and head of human resources at the MGM Grand Hotel Casino, the flagship property for MGM Resorts International.

Husam Kakish is a Human Resources executive with over twenty years of experience leading international hospitality companies through organizational change, growing and developing key talent and driving a culture of employee engagement and performance. Presently, Husam is Head of Human Resources at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, the flagship property for MGM Resorts International.

Raised in Amman, Jordan, he came to the United States for higher education and has since traveled across the U.S. working for companies such as New Orleans Chef Emeril Lagasse's restaurant group, MGM Resorts, and later in the Middle East, where he resided in Dubai and held key leadership roles with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Millennium Hotels & Resorts.

Husam earned his Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management at Kansas State University and remains an avid Wildcats fan. In 2007, he went on to earn his Executive MBA from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. As an alumni and having served as a member of the Kansas State University Department of Hotel Management Advisory Board, Husam has a passion for sharing his expertise with students, future leaders, and fellow members of the hospitality industry.
