First Day of School 2012
Four coeds stood in a line, a cell phone held at arm’s length. They were taking a picture to commemorate “the first day of their last year” together as students at K-State. Their location was apropos. It was the first day of the first year of school for colorful windowed space between two state-of-the-art classrooms in the new Justin Hall Expansion.
Construction began in July 2010. The 13,180 square feet of state-of-the-art classroom, spacious halls, efficient work areas and inviting lobbies opened in time for the first fall students.
The new $5-million expansion will be dedicated at 2 p.m. Friday at the south entrance of Justin Hall. Cake will be served in Hoffman Lounge following the ribbon cutting. The building will be open to tour. More info is on the Dedication website.
Presenters will include Virginia Moxley, dean; Kirk Schulz, K-State president; April Mason, provost and senior vice president; Carolyn Jackson, president of the Human Ecology Alumni Advisory Board; Lauren Koepp, interior design senior and president of the Human Ecology Council; Kent Bradley, chair of the alumni association board of directors and Petros Levis, past president of the alumni advisory board.
