Male dietitians: The 3 percent

About 3 percent of all registered dietitians in the United States are male. But 60 percent of the fall graduating class in dietetics  in the College of Human Ecology were men. According to Deb Canter, who has been teaching dietetics at K-State for 36 years, this is probably the first time three male students have been graduated in a single semester. The three are Josh Mathiasmeier, left; Brett Ziegler and Colin Duke. According to advisers Kevin Sauer and Amber Howells, they are studying for the Registered Dietitian exam.
