Monday, February 4, 2013

Do you chew gum?

You can earn $40 for chewing gum and answering questions about the experience. Take this screener at http://qry.ca/WTP2F6 and see if you qualify. Participants who complete the study will earn a $40 gift card from a choice of one of four businesses.

The study starts Friday, Feb. 8, and runs through Sunday, Feb. 10. Qualified subjects, who must be between 10 and 35 years old, will test the products at home. This study is online and will be a two-day test with a maximum of two hours each day.

Questions? Email the K-State Sensory and Consumer Research Center at consumerresearch@k-state.edu.

The center is the Olathe branch of the Sensory Analysis Center in the College of Human Ecology.

Take a couch potato break

Researchers in human nutrition and kinesiology are looking for participants for a study to determine the effects of sedentary behavior on physically active people.

The 8-week study, participants will be asked to spend two hours a day in a relaxed study hall, and will be able to find out about their health: body fat percentage, cholesterol and triglycerides, fasting glucose, lung function, inflammation levels, oxidative stress, physical activity levels and sedentary time.
