Courtney Taylor receives NEWH scholarship

Courtney Taylor, third year interior design student in the College of Human Ecology, has been selected as a recipient of the NEWH Icon of the Industry 2013 Scholarship. The scholarship award is $5,000.
Founded in 1984, NEWH is an international non-profit organization, with 18 chapters and 6 affiliated areas, which links professionals from every facet of the hospitality industry and related fields. Scholarship recipients are selected based on their professionalism, academic standing, and professional career goals. Finalists for the scholarship are selected through interviews conducted by the awards committee.
Taylor will be recognized at an awards banquet on June 5 at the Perot Museum in Dallas. The NEWH Dallas chapter is awarding nine scholarships this year to students in a variety of fields in the hospitality industry including interior design, culinary arts and hotel management.
She is from Lawrence.
