Human Ecology welcomes Dean Buckwalter

Dean Buckwalter moves to Manhattan from Texas, where he served as associate dean of research and graduate studies in the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Texas Arlington.
As associate dean, he developed a college strategic plan for research that addressed productivity. Dr. Buckwalter served as chair of the Department of Kinesiology there for two years.
He was associate professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a fellow at the American College of Sports Medicine and the Research Consortium of AAHPERD. His M.S. and Ph.D. in kinesiology are from the University of Arkansas. He has been published extensively in journals such as Journal of Applied Physiology, American Journal of Physiology and Physiological Research.
He has received more than $2 million in grant funding. His research specialty is cardiovascular physiology.
The College of Human Ecology includes five academic units: kinesiology; apparel, textiles and interior design; hospitality management and dietetics; human nutrition; and family studies and human services.
