Jennifer Morris named student commencement speaker

Jennifer Morris, who will graduate in December in dietetics, has been selected to represent her fellow graduates at the College of Human Ecology commencement at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, in Bramlage Coliseum.
She will speak on “Your attitude determines your altitude.”
“I am passionate about dietetics and the College of Human Ecology,” Morris said. “I value the commitment that our college has to focus first on people.”
Morris, from Ogden, is completing her dietetic clinical internship at Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center in Leavenworth and hopes to work with the veterans administration after becoming a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist.
She was a food service specialist in the U. S. Army from 2003 to 2010. She served in Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan, for 26 months.
At Kansas State University, she was an undergraduate teaching assistant and is a member of the Kappa Omicron Nu honor society, the Student Dietetic Association and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is a certified personal trainer and also has ServSafe and CPR/AED certification.
She has done volunteer work with the Davita Maize Dialysis Center, Valley View Senior Life in Junction City and Kansas Food Bank in Wichita.
