Holiday gift guide: 'Teatime to Tailgates' cookbook and history of K-State

All proceeds from the sale of Teatime to Tailgates: 150 Years at the K-State Table support college undergraduate student research and international study opportunities.
The 256-page book, named a 2014 Kansas Notable Book, is packed with history, stories, recipes and photos connected with K-State. It features many people, past and present, from the College of Human Ecology but covers the entire campus from entomology to bakery science.
Jane P. Marshall, a food journalist and communications director for the college, wrote Teatime to Tailgates for the College of Human Ecology's sesquicentennial project. “The book is the story gritty professors, itchy-footed explorers and talented graduates who changed by the world by changing how people grow, select, prepare and eat their food," Marshall said.
Recipes range from Merna Zeigler’s K-State Crown to Kansas Dirt and from Harry’s Famous Meatloaf to 4-H Apple Crisp.
