Hospitality Management students receive conference awards

 Xiaoye Li, Willie Tao, Han Wen and Junehee KwonTen doctoral students and four faculty members from the department of hospitality management in the College of Human Ecology attended 21st Annual Graduate Education and Graduate Student Research Conference in Hospitality and Tourism from January 6th through 9th, 2016 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Overall, there were 251 presentations during this conference from numerous universities that offer graduate programs in hospitality management and tourism. During the conference, K-State students gave five stand-up presentations as well as seven poster presentations.

Xiaoye Li, Chen-Wei Tao, Bongsug Chae, Han Wen and Junehee Kwon received the best paper award from the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology (JHTT) with the title, Investigating dining experiences at Chinese restaurants using user-generated content and topic modeling.

Dr. Kwon, associate professor and graduate program director, was recognized as one of 10 paper review track chairs and was one of four panel members discussing, Grant Writing and External Funding – The New Normal.
