Sauer and Roberts Provide Keynote Address for Arizona Conference

On Saturday, September 26, Kevin Sauer, professor in the Department of Food, Nutrition, Dietetics, and Health and Kevin R. Roberts, professor in the Department of Hospitality Management presented the virtual keynote address for the Annual Conference of the School Nutrition Association of Arizona.

The School Nutrition Association of Arizona is an alliance of over 1,000 Arizona school nutrition professionals. They are a state affiliate of the national School Nutrition Association, which represents over 59,000 individuals committed to child nutrition programs across the United States.

Sauer and Roberts focused their presentation on highlighting current leadership in food safety and overcoming barriers to advancing safety in child nutrition programs.  Both Sauer and Roberts serve as co-directors of the Center for Food Safety in Child Nutrition Programs.  The Center provides science-based solutions to problems impacting food safety in child nutrition programs across the United States.

The center resides within the College of Health and Human Sciences and is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture.
