Graduate Student Research and Creative Inquiry Forum

Winners of the College of Human Ecology’s Graduate Student Research and Creative Inquiry Forum were Brooke Cull, Sam E. Emerson, Jiyoung Kim and Stephanie Kurti.

More than 30 graduate students representing master’s and doctoral programs presented their research on Saturday April 16, 2016 in Justin Hall. Judges were faculty members from the college.

The top presenters and their topics are:

  • Brooke Cull, graduate student of Food, Nutrition, Dietetics and Health, won for her poster, “On-site and Online Girl Scout Leader Wellness Training for Physical Activity in Troop Meetings,” under the supervision of Dr. David Dzewaltowski and Dr. Richard Rosenkranz.
  • Sam Emerson, graduate student of Food, Nutrition, Dietetics and Health, won for his poster, “Size and Timing Matter: Differential Triglyceride Responses to Three Meal Conditions,” under the supervision of Dr. Mark Haub and Dr. Sara Rosenkranz.
  • Jiyoung Kim, graduate student of Food, Nutrition, Dietetics and Health, won for her poster, “The Impact of Physical Activity and Resistant Starch on Gut Fermentation,” under the supervision of Dr. Mark Haub and Dr. Sara Rosenkranz.
  • Stephanie Kurti, graduate student of Kinesiology, won for her poster, “Post-prandial exhaled 8-isoprostane responses to meals of varying caloric and fat content in nonasthmatic, insufficiently active men”, under the supervision of Dr. Craig Harms.
