Professional Biography

Following the completion of her B.S. degree from K-State in 2006, Shandi accepted a Family and Consumer Sciences teaching position. She was responsible for starting the Culinary Arts program, taught Work and Family courses, helped get both programs as a State Approved program, and served as a FCCLA Chapter Adviser. Following the birth of her second child, Shandi chose to leave the classroom and spend time as a mom. She worked on a ranch with her husband until they returned to their home area adn Shandi took a position with K-State Research and Extension in the Flint Hills District. During her 6.5 years there, she served as the Family and Consumer Science Agent and a 4-H Agent for the District. She also served as the District Director for almost three years prior to making the transition to the position on campus.

Shandi's time is split as the Family and Consumer Science Education instructor and the Kansas FCCLA Adviser.

Personal Information

Shandi is a first-generation Wildcat. Shandi is married to her husband, Terry, and has two children, Castyn and Cooper. When she is not on campus, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her puppy, working on their family's ranching operation, cooking, and spending time outside.
