Professional Certificate

The Department of Applied Human Sciences offers the opportunity for students to earn this professional certificate in conflict resolution, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Professionals wanting the training but not needing the academic credit may take the same courses and obtain the Professional Certificate.

The Conflict Resolution Certificate offers students the fundamentals of conflict resolution theory and practical application. While the program is designed for students who want introductory training in the field of conflict resolution, it is also ideal for lifelong learners who already have either a bachelor's or master's degree and would benefit from the academic study of conflict analysis and resolution so they can apply their knowledge in their current professional settings. All courses are offered on campus and online (distance education).

Courses required for the Professional Certificate:

  1. Conflict Resolution: Core Skills and Strategies (CNRES 751)
  2. Culture and Conflict (CNRES 752)
  3. Organizational Conflict (CNRES 754)
  4. Family Mediation (CNRES 755) (OR another Conflict Resolution course as approved by the program director)

The fee for noncredit participants is $250 per course. Optional continuing education hours are available for an additional fee. Enroll here.
