Commendation from K-State's Student Senate
The student senate passed by unanimous consent a Commendation to Virginia Moxley on April 11, 2013, recognizing her seven years of service as dean of the College of Human Ecology. Among the accomplishments listed in the proclamation are:
- She was responsible for the vision and for ensuring financial gifts for the $5 million addition to Justin Hall;
- She lead the college to an enrollment of more than 3,000 students in four departments, one school, nine centers and institutes, two clinics and a museum;
- She was a founder of the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance, a nationwide alliance sponsoring multi-institutional online academic programs; and
- Her national leadership was recognized in 2009 when she received the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities Board on Human Sciences Public Service Award.
"Dean Moxley has been an incredible visionary, and she ensured the College of Human Ecology lives out its motto: In a world focused on things, we focus first on people."
