Summer Fashion Institute

Discover your creative potential at Kansas State University's Summer Fashion Institute, a four-day immersive camp for high school students interested in fashion, creativity, and innovation. Through hands-on experiences in fashion design, illustration, sewing, and garment construction, participants explore the exciting process of transforming ideas into wearable designs.

Working with K-State faculty and students, campers learn fundamental design principles, develop technical skills, and gain insight into the many career paths within the fashion industry. From sketching concepts and selecting materials to constructing garments and presenting finished pieces, students experience the creative process used by fashion professionals.

Beyond the studio, participants are introduced to K-State's Fashion Studies program and discover how careers in fashion design, product development, merchandising, textile innovation, sustainability, and brand development connect creativity with real-world impact.

Whether you're exploring fashion for the first time or looking to expand your skills, the Summer Fashion Institute provides an engaging and supportive environment to create, learn, and be inspired.

*No previous sewing experience is required. Just bring your curiosity, creativity, and passion for fashion.
