Accelerated Programs

The School of Health Sciences offers many accelerated program options. You can complete any of our accelerated degree programs in just 5 years!

M.S. in Nutrition and Health

The accelerated M.S. program allows qualified undergraduates to obtain both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in shorter time than typically required to earn a B.S. plus a M.S. if both degrees are pursued separately.

B.S./M.S. in Kinesiology

A maximum of 9 credit hours will count toward both the B.S. and M.S. degrees. These may include any 600 level and above courses as approved by the student’s advisory committee. For the M.S. degree, students must complete 24 hours (thesis option) or 36 hours (coursework option) of course work (which includes the 9 hours described above). In addition, for the thesis option, the student must do research leading to a satisfactory thesis. Program options include:

Master of Public Health (M.P.H.)

This degree path allows for up to 9 credit hours to be applied to both a B.S. and an M.P.H degree. The following Heath Sciences bachelor programs are eligible for the accelerated B.S./M.P.H. program:

  • Athletic training and rehabilitation sciences
  • Dietetics
  • Integrative physiology
  • Kinesiology
  • Nutrition and health
  • Nutritional sciences
  • Public health
  • Sports nutrition
