Strength and Conditioning Minor

The strength and conditioning minor establishes a collaborative academic pathway across the School of Health Sciences, enabling students from Kinesiology, Athletic Training & Rehabilitation Sciences, Integrative Physiology, and Sports Nutrition to pursue coursework that fulfills eligibility requirements to sit for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) examination.

By integrating curriculum across multiple disciplines, this minor strengthens the link between performance, rehabilitation, and human movement sciences-preparing students for diverse, career-enhancing opportunities in collegiate athletics, tactical performance, fitness, and clinical settings. It broadens access to professional credentials that elevate career readiness, competitiveness, and post-graduate success.

This interdisciplinary structure also fosters collaboration among programs, encourages shared use of faculty expertise and facilities, and positions Kansas State University as a regional leader in applied human performance education. The availability of both online and on-campus options further supports the university's mission to expand access, attract diverse learners, and meet growing workforce demand for qualified strength and conditioning professionals.
