HHS Reorganization
Our Process
We appreciate your support as we work to implement the recommendations from the college’s organizational assessment efficiently and effectively, and we invite you to monitor this page for process updates.
Previously, the college's programs were spread across several departments: Applied Human Sciences; Fashion Studies; Food, Nutrition, Dietetics and Health; Hospitality Management; Kinesiology; Personal Financial Planning; and the K-State Center on Aging. These departments and units equipped learners with the education and skills needed to make meaningful impacts in the lives of individuals, families, and communities, but their disparate nature led to some work being siloed within our college.
Under the new organizational structure (pdf), we will be organized into three distinct schools: the School of Human Sciences, the School of Health Sciences, and the School of Consumer Sciences. By organizing into these focused schools, we aim to improve coordination across programs, increase opportunities for collaboration within and across schools, and clarify our broad areas of study and focus for external audiences. This new structure not only strengthens our ability to offer integrated, interdisciplinary offerings, but also positions us to adapt more effectively to the evolving needs of our students and the communities we serve.
