Larissa Holt '12

Larissa graduated from K-State in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in apparel and textiles, specializing in apparel marketing with a minor in business administration and leadership studies. While attending K-State, she co-wrote weekly fashion articles for the Kansas State Collegian and was involved in AMDA and the Fair-Trade Organization as Fashion Show Coordinator. Larissa attended the Apparel and Textile Study Tour in New York City where she discovered her love for the Big Apple, which led to her internship at Seventeen Magazine as a Fashion Market and Sittings Intern. She also interned for a Showroom at Dallas Market Center and with the Buying and Visual Merchandising departments at Buckle.

After graduating, Larissa went on to work for Buckle in Kearney, Nebraska as an Assistant Buyer for women's denim and accessories. She then moved to Kansas City where she continued with Buckle as a Corporate Visual Merchandising Strategist. Her experiences have led her to her current position as a Corporate Sales Strategist and Media Relations Specialist. Larissa has worked at Buckle for over 13 years and supports many facets of the sales team companywide, including coordinating sales and leadership meetings, strategizing areas of opportunities for the business, executing in-store events, and developing a new video series, Behind the Seams. She also collaborates with Marketing to amplify Buckle’s brand through development and implementation of communications and public relations efforts, driving new partnership opportunities.  Larissa is a team player and has worn many “hats” throughout her journey at Buckle. She says it’s not about what you do, but who you do it with and she has her mentors to thank for all the leadership lessons, influence, and impact they've had on her life personally and professionally.

One of Larissa’s favorite quotes is, “Surround yourself with people who add value to your life. Who challenge you to be greater than you were yesterday. Who sprinkle magic into your existence. Just like you do to theirs. Life isn’t meant to be done alone, find your tribe and journey freely and loyally together.”
