Professional Biography
Sherry Haar is a distinguished graduate faculty professor in Fashion Studies at Kansas State University. She is a natural dye scholar and fiber artist. Her scientific work focuses on methods to enhance plant dye to fiber and effluent quality. This work influences her creative natural dye and sustainable design practice of creating fiber and wearable art to bring awareness to the green burial movement. Sherry received her PhD from Virginia Tech, MS, and BS from the University of Nebraska. Her work has been published, patented, and exhibited in six countries. Dr. Haar's teaching and research has been recognized with teaching, student development, and research awards.
