Agritourism Certificate

Interested in helping farms thrive while creating unforgettable visitor experiences? The Agritourism Certificate is a 15-credit program that prepares students with the skills to develop, manage, and promote farm-based tourism businesses. Open to all undergraduate students, or available as a stand-alone credential, this certificate is ideal for those who want to support agricultural communities while exploring innovative ways for farms to diversify their revenue.

You’ll learn how farms can transform into destination experiences by offering activities such as farm tours, U-pick operations, seasonal festivals, weddings, farm-to-table events, educational programs, and on-farm retail. The program pairs well with majors such as agribusiness, agricultural economics, hospitality and tourism, small business, agricultural sales, global food systems leadership, and outdoor enterprise management, equipping you with practical, real-world knowledge that can be applied across agricultural settings.

Program Requirements

Fifteen credit hours - twelve hours of core content and three hours of specified electives - are required to complete the certificate. For questions regarding course sequences, please email the School of Consumer Sciences.
