Research Interests
Dr. Trinetta's research integrates food safety, public health, and Food as Medicine to improve human health across the food system. Her work examines the ecology and control of foodborne pathogens and biofilms in food processing and agricultural environments. She also investigates the roles of fermentation, beneficial microbes, and food processing technologies in supporting metabolic health and preventing chronic disease. Through interdisciplinary and translational research, Dr. Trinetta's program aims to generate evidence-based solutions that enhance food safety, protect public health, and advance food as a tool for disease prevention.
