Student Success

The university experience extends beyond the classroom, and the School of Human Sciences offers opportunities for student engagement, professional mentoring and more to foster individual growth and a strong community.

Student with advisorThe School of Human Sciences is committed to providing students great academic experiences in and outside of the classroom. Students benefit from working with professional advisors who work one-on-one with students to help them successfully navigate college by developing strategies for achieving student's academic, career, and personal goals.

Students also have opportunities to get involved in numerous departmental and college-level student organizations, which provide opportunities for students to expand their personal and professional networks, participate in professional activities, and cultivate relationships with students, faculty, and staff members.

Students also benefit from connections made through our college’s Professional Mentoring Program. Students are paired with successful and experienced professionals in their field. Mentors work one-on-one with students to give you the tools you’ll need to succeed as a professional.

Testimonials
I have been able to work with great faulty and professors that have helped pour into me as a student. I have enjoyed that I get to learn about how the human body works but also how the human brain works. I love that my major focuses on people first and how we can care for each other.
Brenna F., Integrative Human Sciences
The professors in the Human Development and Family Science program, provide many opportunities for us students to grow inside and outside the classroom. They encourage class morale, that helps us stay connected to our peers within our designated major!
