Prospective Students
Welcome to the College of Health and Human Sciences!
We are a college made up of many diverse parts. That broad range is one of our strengths. Everything we do is relevant to major issues of society. The unifying theme is that we focus on humans; we put people first.
We are proud of our students, and we want them to thrive inside and outside the classroom. So we enrich their educational experience in many ways:
Research Opportunities
Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the work of their future profession, working side-by-side with faculty and staff in meaningful endeavors. Our students have worked on research in areas of cancer prevention, childhood obesity, sustainable textile dyes, food safety, financial literacy and more.
Scholarship Opportunities
We awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships for the 2013-2014 school year.
International Opportunities
More than 100 students studied outside the United States during the 2012-2013 school year. They have traveled to Thailand, Korea, Italy, Hungary, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Argentina, Mexico, China, Australia and other countries.
Internship Opportunities
Several programs require them - dietetics; apparel and textiles; and hospitality management. Other programs recommend them. All programs cultivate opportunities for student internships in places such as Manhattan, Northern Ireland, Dallas, New York City, Chicago, Glacier National Park and Kansas City.
