While an undergraduate student at Kansas State University working on her degree in apparel and textiles with a specialization in textile design and product development, Monica took the opportunity to study abroad. Studying at American Intercontinental University in London (now known as Regent's University London), she was able to take required classes for her degree, including Principles of Forecasting, History of Apparel Fashion, and Draping. Monica also participated in study tours to Paris, France, Dallas and New York.

Having received her bachelor's degree, Monica is now at Angelo State University where she works as a researcher for the Bill Sims Wool and Mohair Research Laboratory and is earning her Master of Science in Animal Sciences focusing on wool apparel product development.
