VA Northern Indiana Health Care System
Interior Designer
Andréa graduated Kansas State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and a minor in Business. Upon graduation, she began working for Management and Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTS) as a part-time Interior Designer/FF&E Integrator. Within six months of employment at MTS, she was offered a full-time position. In 2015, she became an Independent Contractor working for Altus Architectural Studios. During her time at MTS and Altus Architectural Studios, she worked in support of the U.S. Army Health Facility Planning Agency overseeing all aspects of the interior design and furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) for the 550,000-square-foot Irwin Army Community Hospital Replacement Facility in Fort Riley, Kansas. Here she developed skills in project management, government furniture procurement, and furniture installation scheduling while demonstrating the invaluable skills learned at Kansas State University in space planning, furniture specification, and programming.
In 2016 Andréa relocated to Indiana to continue her career in healthcare design working for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Marion, Indiana. Here, she currently works as the lead Interior Designer for the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System Marion Campus. Throughout her career, Andréa has found great joy in being able to use her skills to create spaces that promote healing environments for the men and women who serve our Country and are America’s Veterans. Andréa holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Project Management from Capella University and is currently pursuing her NCIDQ certification.
