Professional Biography
Kelsie Doty is a PhD candidate in Apparel Design at Cornell University. Before going to Cornell she received her Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science in Apparel and Textiles from Kansas State University. Doty’s research concentrates on sustainability in the apparel supply chain. Using a mixture of ethnographic and documentary film making methods her work is currently looking at how and why designers are using natural dyes in the fashion industry. Sustainability is also part of her creative design scholarship, which centers on making garments from biodegradable textiles, dyes, and findings.
