College Council Awards
The Human Ecology College Council invites students to nominate outstanding peers and faculty members for recognition during the academic year. The College Council developed the awards to recognize undergraduate students, graduate students and faculty who go above and beyond in their commitment to the College of Human Ecology, Kansas State University and the community.
This award is given monthly to one male and one female student. The College Council accepts nominations from peers and faculty members for any student who is properly enrolled in the College of Human Ecology.
Outstanding Service Project Award
The purpose of this award is to recognize a Human Ecology student's significant contribution to humanity, Kansas State University and his or her philanthropy of choice. This student is seen as a trailblazer by fulfilling a need for service in the community.
Faculty of the Year Award
This award recognizes a faculty member in the College of Human Ecology who has gone above and beyond to assist students.
Graduate Teaching Assistant of the Year Award
This award recognizes a graduate teaching assistant (GTA) in the College of Human Ecology who has gone above and beyond to assist students.
Unsung Hero Award
This award recognizes the accomplishments of a student who helps their peers achieve success in ways that may not be measured in grades, but more about placing value on characteristics that are often undervalued. This student makes a significant contribution to their college community by going above and beyond to help a fellow student. Caring, ethical, humble and positive; this individual serves as an inspiration to fellow students. Recipients will be College of Human Ecology students who have best demonstrated our motto, "In a world focused on things, we focus first on PEOPLE."
