Professional Biography
Jill Parker has 17 years of experience in academic advising and career counseling in higher education. After earning her graduate degrees, she spent 6 years as an advisor/career counselor, and then was promoted to Director of Career Services in Fort Wayne, IN at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. She later relocated to Fort Collins, CO, where she served as the Director of Advising, Career, and Retention Services at Front Range Community College-Larimer Campus for nearly 7 years. While Parker enjoyed her work as a director, she found she missed working directly with students. In August 2017, she became an academic advisor in Family Studies and Human Service at K-State, where she will advise students in early childhood education, communication sciences and disorders, human development and family science, and personal financial planning.
Personal Information
In addition to her work responsibilities, Parker enjoys road trips, visiting national parks, learning foreign languages, and photography. She is excited to get to know and support her students, and looks forward to discovering all that K-State and Manhattan have to offer.
