Dr. Kari Morgan, Ph.D. is an associate professor of family studies and human sciences at K-State, joining the faculty in 2015. In her role at K-State she serves as coordinator of the undergraduate program in human development and family science and teaches in the general human ecology program as well as the human development and family science program. Dr. Morgan’s research currently focuses on issues related to undergraduate education and pedagogy. Prior to her position at Kansas State, Dr. Morgan worked at the University of Wyoming as an Associate Professor and Director of the First-Year Seminar program, and the University of Wisconsin Extension as an Infant Development Specialist.
Kari and her husband, Chris Spooner, are the parents of two college age/adult daughters. Chris works at the K-State Foundation. Chris and Kari are both products of land-grant institutions; they are honored to work at K-State (the first land grant university in the nation), and contribute to the work and mission of the University. In their spare time they enjoy attending events at K-State, walking their Newfoundland dog Jemma, and practicing yoga. They are also active members of several community organizations. Although they have only been at K-State a few short years, they have grown to love purple, and are happy to call the flint hills of Kansas home.
